Wherever the root of falsehood is allowed to thrive, a shipwreck and total collapse is inevitable. Whether it’s among friends, family, or neighbours there has always been the temptation to deceive, to lie, to promote falsehood, just to smooth things over, hoping to avoid any deeper conflict, or to manipulate a situation. Falsehood creates a crack in the walls of relationships, leading to it's eventual collapse. There is truth as opposed to falsehood, which is an express intention to deceive. We must endeavour to put off falsehood in its various form. We must put away, whatsoever is prejudicial to truth, or injurious to our own, or our neighbour’s good name. We are to put away flattery, gossip and slander. We are to put away all forms of manipulation. We are to cease from any and all distortions of the truth.
