Your ability to discern the voice of the good Shepherd from that of the stranger will determine where you will finally end up, either by the still waters and the green pastures or at the slaughter house of the enemy. The Shepherd has already prepared a way through for us. All we have to do is continue to listen to His Voice. We can trust his voice and follow him. There are a lot of voices in the world clamouring for our attention. But the one voice we need to hear most is the voice of Jesus. The more we obey the Lord, the more we learn to recognize his voice. Strangers may look like angels and even act like God, but it's their speech that gives them away -- a voice that lacks authority, intimacy and hope. Those who have ears to hear, hear -- they also know what to ignore.
